I'm thinking of buying an item from someone and is there any alternatives rather then PayPal that I can transfer money over securely?

Well the person I'm buying from says their account is under review and will take a month to receive payment so has asked me to find one that is secure. So if I were to buy from that person using credit card I'm covered if the item doesn't turn up?0

Perhaps take a moment and think.
Paypal is a VERY secure way for a buyer to purchase an item.
As a seller, why would you want an alternative?1 -
My bank advised me to use Paypal and only Paypal when buying anything online. I don't accept any excuses.0

Unless it is a well established business with a physical address or you can buy for cash on collection, walk away. Any other payment method to an unknown private individual is likely to end badly for you.
Don't get suckered because you really want the item or it is a bargain price.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
