Pocket Shield

A good friend of mine recently came across ( on Facebook ) A device that supposedly eliminates card detail theft," pocketshield " by scoresmatter.co.uk .   It's the same size as a credit card and you just put in your wallet and forget it. It needs NO battery and relies on radio waves to power it.  Although the outlay is not great it seems a bit "Science Fiction".  Has anyone had experience and i would appreciate comments / thoughts.

Not only is the device science fiction but also the reason(s) to use one.

Well it is a solution to something that is not a problem.

Just have more than one card and even if they could read the details, it would be useless.

Fact. Card details are available on any till roll where you use your card (retailers side)
    Life in the slow lane
  • You can do the same with some foil if you want but honestly card skimming is not a thing, people don't walk around with RFID readers waving them at people's wallets from 2cm away in the hope they have contactless cards they can read
  • Literally just place two Contactless / RFID cards together. No scanner on earth can descipher the scrambled, overlaid, simultaneous responses the cards throw out when there's more than one together.

So you're not just signing up to promote this in your first ever post on the pretence of asking a question?

In answer to your question - these devices are not needed and are a waste of money.

Anyone that finds this thread via google search should get that message loud and clear.
