  • Hi, I'm new to his so please bear with me.  My daughter has moved into a new build flat. The gas and electric are supplied by Scottish Power. I've rung, chatted and emailed the MPAN and MPRN numbers to them, together with meter readings and all her details, but they keep saying those meter details are registered to a plot number on he development. Her flat was indeed this plot number but now has an actual address. We can't seem to speak to anyone who can put those meter details together with the new address. We can't complain as she doesn't yet have an account with them. Any suggestions? I keep emailing so it's in writing but their service is so poor, I want to find her another supplier now, but can't until this is sorted!

Speak to the Developer as your first port of call. They will have registered the electricity supply with SP Energy Networks (not the same as Scottish Power), and either Cadent or an independent gas transporter for gas. As it is likely to be a development wide issue, then they should grasp the nettle and deal with the DNO and Cadent to get the two databases updated. This can take time.
