ebay messsages help

Hi I need help. for some reason I dont get messages from buyer if I send message buyer 1st then I received reply but if they want to contact me I dont get message if something wrong with item they have to open case because I dont get message few time I ask ebay to help me but did not get any help. if i go to my account where it say 

Member-to-member message notification :Buyer question received (none)  Member question received (none)  can any help thanks

I'm not sure this link will work, but try checking that you haven't accidentally ticked anything in your messages options:

Other than that are you sure buyers are trying to contact you? It is not unusual , in fact it is quite common, for a buyer to go straight to a case rather than email first - do you know you are missing messages or assuming that because they don't contact you there is a message missing?
