Removals additional insurance cost

Hi,
I have had some removal quotes with a wide range of costs. I worry that the cheaper ones have small vehicles and will need to do more than one trip, going for a bigger firm with 15 tonne vehicles.

The one I liked the best has an additional cost for insurance of £300, they have said we can check with our home insurance if we are covered and we would be.
But I was wondering if this is normal to add the insurance on and for it to cost so much?
Thanks

Do the other quotes include insurance?
Forget about the breakdown, it's the total costs you need to compare.0 -
Yeah I believe so. But I guess with this one I have the option of making it cheaper!0

1) do you want/need insurane?2) does you current contents insurance cover include removals?3) have you checked which each company a) does the quote include insaunce and b) can opt to add or remove it?4) have you checked with each company what sice vehicle you need and what they provide?Only then can you compare like for like for what you want!1

Insurance against what risks? You shouldn't be paying to insure against things which they ought to be liable for anyway e.g. them dropping your stuff or crashing their van.
