When can you have a second test? Do you HAVE to wait for results from Test1 before T2?(via Gov site

If having a covid swab test, where you put a long white stick on your saliva and nose,  at a center, booked from the Gov site, via email and text etc,

then is there any limitation on time/and days that you can Book and attend a second test, (from the gov site)
How many days from the first one, can you reapply for the second test?

Do you have to wait for the result from your first test, before booking  a second one from the same Gov website?

or does the Gov system recognize you have made an application for a second test without the result of the first test coming?

and does it depend on whether your result is positive/ negative or inconclusive?

  • Why would you be applying for tests back to back?

It's not there as a cheap way of getting PCR tests for going abroad, or to satisfy employers.

    Hi,
people do tests often, to confirm their original first test is not a false test,  for example if the test result shows inconclusive,
or if the result shows positive, they take a second test to confirm it.

    Do you have symptoms?
Then you need to wait for the results. If it is positive you should not get another test for 90 days as even if your symptoms go after 19 days you can still test positive. although you will not be infectious.
Why do you want another test straight away?
  • Have you had a first test? What was the result?

Only if they've been asked to (presumably by a doctor or someone with the authority to authorise it). Have you been asked?

    Do they?
if you know people take a second test why are you asking here? Ask the people that you know have had a second test.
  • The online site for booking a test is there to generate a test at your local center.

Not sure if the online site will restrict the amount of tests you apply for,  or whether their online booking system will remember your application from the last time you applied,  and stop somebody applying a second time?

Pretty certain the Gov site will have clever tracking to check whether an application is made again  ;)

I would guess it would let you book a second test if your first test result was inconclusive.

  • OP you have two threads asking questions about getting multiple tests at Government sites .

If you have symptoms then one test is sufficient , self-isolate until you get the result. When you get the result you will be told what you need to do next .

You don’t need to reveal personal information on this forum , but it would help people to give you the information you need,  if you could explain why you feel you need multiple tests ?

Is it because the current situation is causing you to have extreme anxiety about whether you may have caught the virus ? If so you are not alone, more people than ever are suffering with anxiety during the current restrictions .

  • Anxiety has definitely gone up and some people who have had anxiety have been assuming the anxiety is the covid virus inside them, when anxiety is not covid.
