Applied for CC but couldn't accept?

I applied for a Sainsburys 0% balance transfer card yesterday, and put in the amount I would have liked to transfer.
I got accepted, but with a lower credit limit. However, when I tried to update the transfer amount, or even cancel the transfer, it wouldn't update the amount so constantly said
"you can't transfer more than 90% of your limit"
In the end I couldn't get it to work so just had to decline it.
I would like the card though, just wondering what my options are now.
Do you think they will be able to provide the card without a new search, or remove the existing search?
Just wondering if anyone knows before I bother calling.
Thanks

ThanksYou only get 1 oppotunity to complete the transfer during the application process, you cannot go back and amend after you submit because you didn't get the limit you wanted. The card will arrive with no transfer at all or an amount equal to 90% of the credit limit. Why would they remove the search? You submitted the application, whether you get the card or not the search is recorded. Please familiarise yourslf with how credit applications work before you ruin your chances with mutiple failed searches.1 -

The problem is not the lower limit, the problem is that before you can accept the card, you have to either lower your requested balance transfer amount, or cancel the transfer and just take the card without a balance transfer. The problem is, the website did not allow me to do this this due to a bug. It gives you the option to do this, with a field they provide for you to amend the amount or a box that says "cancel balance transfer" but the option doesn't update anything, so when you try and accept, you can't because the requested balance transfer is still higher than the limit.0 -
You can do it after account opening0

You get 1 opportunity during the application, yes but they won't know what limit to give you until they do the search. As it happens, your limit was not as good as you wanted because they don't consider you worth it - you can still transfer less or complete the BT after the card arrives. I had a BT card just last month where I applied and didn't do the transfer until the payment I needed to make went throughmoneywow1 said:

OK. I give up.
Thank you for replying everyone. I appreciate the effort, but you clearly do not understand the issue.
I will just ring Sainsburys and hopefully they will understand.1 -
I understand. Very frustrating. Unfortunately we can't answer this for you, only Sainsbury's can. Given the bug I'd expect them to remove the search as a goodwill gesture or push the application through. They need to sort out this bug. Could it have been your browser? I've noticed chrome doing strange things like this on all my PCs lately, Edge (excuse the swearing) seems fine though.moneywow1 said:OK. I give up.

It was Chrome on Android, so most likely the browser, but we'll see what they sayFighter1986 said:

Just give them a call. I am sure they will be happy to transfer your balance transfer requet.Failing that, just wait until you have online access to your new account and I am sure youll be able to request a BT there?0

The OP couldn't submit his application so no account will "just be opened".. the website broke, the Submit button didn't work. This is the quandry that led him to post here in the first place.maxximus75 said:Just give them a call. The the OP just declined the transfer option. If that is the case and the OP was accepted, an account will be created although the BT will not be process due to the above issues.Or have I missed something?0
