lost in techie land - what to choose

looking for basic machine, preferably under £450
average user my current machine has used up 49 gig so far - to give you an idea. Main use internet , mail, standard word, excel. No gaming. However would like a reasonable set up for burning cds, downloading music, and some space for a growing collection of photos. Would like some support thrown in, not had a good time with my current machine (mesh friday night job). looking at novaech would like a machine with a card reader for the sd cards I get with my camera and usb sticks.

Any suggestions, nice to have would be a small form factor.

thank you devon girl.

Copy your photos to CD disk as well - maybe even do two - one as a backup!

I have just been looking at a laptop on novatech What do you think? £439 with vista home premium. I am a little more cautious when buying a laptop over a desktop. But I am thinink of the space / mobile advantages.

    49GB?!?! :D:D

I have used almost all of my computers 350GB.....:eek:

I do download a bit but have to delete as soon as i've watched if its a film but I am still full.... saying that, I do have a lot of music and photos on there too...

OP, I highly recommend Dell for decent cheap PC's...... can't recommend a deal in particular but there are always plenty about and since you don't want to play games, you should get one for a decent price!!
