Dead Duck: MBNA Cashback Credit Card?

Had an MBNA cashback credit card for a number of years, which I used for section 75 cover, many big purchases, including re-embursed work expenses etc (work doesn't give us a company card), and this has earned a respectable amount of cashback over the years. Annoyingly, the last couple of years it would only payout at the end of the year, but still, got £70 odd back this January.
However, it now seems the card is changing, moving to some Smart Rewards thing, got to sign up for selected retailers who I'd like cashback from. However, when I checked this afternoon, there's four. Yes just four retailers I can get cash back from: Huel, Lands' end, Trespass and Eurocar - none of which are any interest to me.
So is that it, is this card now a dead duck? Is there any good reason to keep this card now? Are my only decent alternatives going to be an Amex card?

It's my understanding that the Smart Rewards offers are additional to existing terms and conditions.
You would need to sign up for the deals and also register for each offer you want to benefit from, similar to American Express offers. If you're not interested, don't sign up.1 -
Do you have an Amex card for the retailers that take Amex?
Amex Platinum Everyday Cashback and Amex Rewards Blue are good cards with either cashback or reward points that are actually quite flexible (e.g. can be converted to Nectar or Avios points).0
