Hi

    Post-lockdown, presumably?
Don't use the trainline.com, it charges you a fee.
Are you eligible for any of the National Railcards?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

The train companies own website. Book ages in advance & choose a fixed time rather than flexible ticket

I was speaking to a train manager and he said the cheapet way is to book 12 weeks in advanced when the tickets become availble. But where you book i do not know!

I don't know what you are trying to show, but those images aren't a comparison.  Trainsplit price a single fare, trainline is an off peak return.

Advanced tickets cheapest, usually available 12 weeks from travel, but Covid has put paid to many of those as emergency timetables are in force.
