Rawl plugs for garage shelving

It's unlikely to be good quality softwood more like white pine from a diy shed. Unless the garage is excessively damp or you want to waste time no need to treat it.danrv said:Thanks for the replies. I’ll probably use four London brackets for each 7ft shelf. It’s literally 2 shelves straight onto the wall and this way looked the most straightforward.
Can’t remember what the wood is but it’s good quality softwood, similar to pine in appearance.
Not sure if it needs any protector or varnish before putting up.0 -
Ok thanks. It’s not the rough stuff from a big chain.williamgriffin said:It's unlikely to be good quality softwood more like white pine from a diy shed. Unless the garage is excessively damp or you want to waste time no need to treat it.
It’s PAR Premier from a proper timber merchant. I did have a look at the grade lower but not as good.

Shelf up at last. Used brown plugs and 8 gauge 30mm screws as longer ones were quite hard work to get in.
Thanks for the replies. Info was useful.
