Great plan, can’t think of a single flaw.yorkie2021 said:I would opt for a share ISA and pick some shares that will rise once lockdown is over.Don’t know why everyone doesn’t just do that?Come to think of it why does anyone waste time investing in shares that aren’t going to go up?4 -
Look at passive investing in an index tracker
Good reading on whyhttps://monevator.com/best-global-tracker-funds/https://occaminvesting.co.uk/best-vanguard-passive-index-tracker-fund-uk/#ftse
If you can park the cash for over 25-30 years and add to it monthly there's a good chance you'll make a profit
Run some numbers herehttp://www.candidmoney.com/calculators/investment-charges-impact-calculator
For the above Vanguard funds initial charge is 0 and Ongoing is anything between 0.22 to 0.250 -
Another great plan, just not relevant to this thread where the OP wants to "park" his house deposit fund for 2-3 years.blackrosmarin said:Look at passive investing in an index tracker

Please tell us which shares you mean ?
More seriously if there were companies who could benefit after lockdown is lifted , do you not think that the tens of thousands of highly paid analysts in the City and Wall St, might just have already twigged who they are, and therefore the share prices will already have risen in anticipation ?3 -
