Question for anyone on E.ON 'Variable' Direct Debit

Options
Hi Folks
I'm currently with Npower and pay quarterly by direct debit. They only take out what I have used for the quarter (Variable Direct debit) as I don't like paying a fixed monthly price. Thinking of changing to EON (I know npower are merging with them, but EON are offering a better deal than npower for me!!)
Now the question is I can choose variable Direct debit with EON - but it doesn't state if this is quarterly or monthly?? I presume its the same kind of "pay what you have used" deal but don't know the frequency of payments.
Anyone pay using this method on EON?? is it the same as npower pay what you've used scheme??
Cheers

    Hi tarelus, hope you're well.

Our Variable Direct Debit is indeed quarterly. We'll produce a bill and then take the exact balance 14 days later. If this falls on a weekend or bank holiday it will be collected the next working day.

If we produce an estimated bill then generally you'll need to provide meter readings within 5 days to allow time for us to ensure we only take payment for your actual energy usage rather than the estimated bill. If you have a newer version of Smart Meters it's likely that we'll be able to get readings automatically so this may not be an issue.

Hope that helps and any further queries let me know :) There's a couple of us that keep an eye on threads on here that we're mentioned in.

    Thanks, Matt
