Caravan finance.

Was wondering if someone could give me some help. We bought a touring caravan on finance Jan 2020. Then came March all lockdowns and covid starting coming. We haven’t been able to use the van as much as we would have. The site have been fab with refunding fees paid, but what I want to know is where I would stand with trying to claim anything back from the caravan finance company. Paying for something we can use with no fault of our own. We obviously still want to keep our van, but my question is more around paying for something we can use. Would the finance companies take this into consideration for any future refunds etc? Thanks

No. It's no fault of the finance company that you haven't used your caravan.
All they need you to do is to repay them the funds they lent you, with the appropriate interest.6 -
i think you may be expecting the impossible.
If you had a car on finance (like millions of others) - you still have to pay for it even if its sat on your drive because you are WFH.
Annoying and galling - yes, but that's how it is
Edited: They may consider/allow a payment holiday if your finances are tight/affected - but generally, I would't suggest you ask unless you really have to1 -
Nor is it the finance company's. Generally termed an Act of God. Best of luck getting him to pay up.krystal_williams88 said:Paying for something we can use with no fault of our own.0 -
You didn't take out finance to use the caravan, you took it out to buy it.3

You would stand in the same place as someone who bought it for cash, and then tried to claim lost savings interest back from their bank.krystal_williams88 said:Was wondering if someone could give me some help. The obvious question is: Who do you think should be contributing to the cost of your caravan, if you don't think you should be paying for it entirely?3

Is your touring caravan on a seasonal pitch?krystal_williams88 said:Was wondering if someone could give me some help. We bought a touring caravan on finance Jan 2020. Caravans were very popular last year because of the limited ability to go abroad. Sites were fully booked much more than usual when they were allowed to open. You’ll have saved a bit on depreciation. I bought a caravan October 19 and it’s worth 2-3,000 more than we paid for it.1 -
You may get a payment holiday but that will mean extra interest as the term will be extended.1

The product you bought from the finance company was the 'finance'.Nothing has changed with respect to your use of that product.1

Yep same with ours! They have rocketed in price. Which is good for usNebulous2 said:
