Hi everyone,
Things have gone a bit pear shaped here - poor Esben had a terrible night with his teeth, he was really screaming in pain, I hated to hear it, he is normally a happy little chap. Anyway with a night of broken sleep he's now having an early nap, he fell asleep while Steve was reading to him. Laura is still in bed, I told her to stay there and Brian is working in the study, so I am taking the chance to get on the laptop.
We had two more lovely meals from the Roasting Tin Around the World book, a fish one in a middle Eastern style and last night a roast chicken with Indian style spices with sweet potatoes. Brian did that one and also cooked a roasted cauliflower dish to go with it - delicious. I'd highly recommend the book.
Tesco delivery came yesterday with no subs and nothing missing although some things were unavailable to order so still some shortages. I can hear Esben so I'd better go, I hope his impromptu nap doesn't upset the rest of the day.14 -
Afternoon all. It's just been inertia, still in pjs and been listening to a new audio book which held my interest. I've also ordered a set of kitchen digital scales as I really want to get back into baking. Mostly it's down to spending too much on shop cakes for the Saturday Scrabble sessions, I can at least make sponges, drizzle cakes and muffins. Of course, this means rooting around the kitchen cupboard I've been avoiding, it's crammed with baking gear so I have to investigate what's there. My plan is also to make Mary Berry's Mexican Tortilla Bake again, it's been ages since I last did it and I know that DM will enjoy it.Snoozer - sorry to hear about Esben's teething problems, it's no consolation that it will pass, for now it's horrible.Ruby - 🌹I've seen Camelot's injury and it's not nice. It kept me indoors yesterday. Today I'll also be staying in, there's enough food to feed an army along with fruit and veg. DM is enjoying seedless grapes just now, her tastes change with the wind.I hope that everyone is doing at least OK if not better. The FMs daily statistics briefing is still grim, cases rising again.Stay safe and well my virtual friends. Happy rest of Monday.14

Hello all, bit late today but I do have a note
Went to Dad's this morning to transfer his scooter to our car, sent in his meter readings and read and re-read his jab letter. No wonder he was confused....... 9 pages of interspersed Welsh and English
Why couldn't they separate the languages ? He had missed the "take ID" bit, so that's ready to go now along with his letter and prescription. From there we filled up with petrol at Morries pay at pump and called in at the van to just check it over..... all ok. We did some up and down the dual carridgeway on the way home just to give the car a run and make sure the car was ready for Wed.This afternoon I need to fill the DW and press the go button and also put out the recycling, I'll do the latter before the heavy rain starts. It's only light rain at present, but seems we are on an amber warning for the next couple of days, hopefully we'll miss it.Tea tonight will be an omelette and there are a few sad looking items in the fridge that need using up tout suite, so they will be thrown in too.Hugs to all those who are poorly, their relatives and pets. Special hugs to Ruby, Rosy, dp1's DD and Snoozer's Esben.Camelot ouch ! Hope the knee heals soon.Scarlett happy birthday to your DGDSam well done to your DD for her fist day of work. Hope she enjoys it.Take care, stay safe and well...... no skating or snowball fights please

During my reading of an online newspaper an article about https://www.morrisons.com/food-boxes/box/5-meals-to-feed-a-family-of-4-box caught my eye.I've never shopped at Morrisons, apart from using their pharmacy, so have no idea about the quality of their own brands, however this struck me as being incredibly good value. No family of four here though a lot is dried goods or food which can be frozen, I may take a punt!

Afternoon all
DD's test results still hadn't come by half 6 last night so I put little one to bed here.
She woke at 6.15 this morning - I went in and she said 'Granny I am a dog ' and then started barking!! I said 'you're a funny little girl' - to which she barked some more......
Took her to nursery this morning and then called for some shopping.
DD's test has now come back as negative so little one is going back home later. She's hardly seen her mummy for the last week, so she'll be very excited.
As for granny....well I might read some of yesterday's Sunday Times!10 -
Once again the day ran away with me, good day though. Walk through quiet lanes with OH and dog, quiet with traffic that is, plenty of dog walkers and those walking for exercise, back to where car parked (still within town boundary) and coffee partaken outside riverside café. Since then I have been picking off the chores, hot towel wash done, DW chugging away, supper prepped, some tidying done, have been busy, but doesn't seem much
I went off to sort some stuff out with OH - a damp patch has appeared! and then found that I had forgotten to press post comment, see you all tomorrowThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)4
