Is it legal to be asked to pay the excess in order for it to be added to a gift card settlement?

I think the OP would have preferred a gift card for £900 to having paid them £200 and got a gift card for £1100 - less flexibility.sheramber said:£900 after the excess.

Well the OP would have had to pay their excess anyway if it's part of their insurance contract so it's better to get a £1100 gift card rather than £900.theoretica said:
