Rear drum brake service

  • Cost is £0 if you do yourself, but remember to put handbrake off or the drum will not come off. Though if it is a Yaris you can put a screw through the drum to take it off. One person on YouTube used kitchen grease cleaner and then put a bucket of water over it, then grease under the drum brake pads.

Some people  afterwards get the rust of the drum cover and spray it with a high temperature colour paint.

Please note that at no point during this work was the kettle ever put out of commission and no chavs were harmed during the making of this post.

...and good luck finding any garage only charging £40/hr, unless it's in the back end of nowhere or the frozen wastes.

    Plus VAT.
I'm positive my local place is £35/hour + VAT, but I am in the back end of nowhere.
