Is it a realistic goal to try to earn £50 a week from a part-time work at home sideline?

I'm looking to make £50 or so a week from home without having to do matched betting or phone sex work.
How do-able is that?

What do you have in mind to do and what sort of hours have you got available?

  • This is definitely possible but what do you have in mind? Do you have some skills you are looking to monetise e.g. by starting a side-hustle creating and selling items or providing a service?

If you have lots of friends on social media  refer and earn could make you a tidy sum.

Do you have SKY TV or Virgin Media ? refer your friends/contacts and get gift cards. Last time i checked SKY was £75 each

Some gas and electric companies also offer bill credit, Octopus Energy give me £50 for every one who signs up with my link and they also get £50 bill credit.

Lots of companies offer you money/gift cards/ credit when your friends join.

  • It is incredibly hard if you just throw yourself at doing something you know nothing about or have no passion for.
And yet it is far easier to make money when you know all about it and want to do it.
What do you do for work that you can then consider making money from in your spare time. Are you an expert in a field, or have knowledge or skills from that job that could be translated to a second project at home?
What hobbies and interests are there that you have, and more importantly what really annoys you about those hobbies or interests that take the edge off it? The reason I say that is because the best way to make money is to solve a problem for people, and the best problems to solve are the ones that really annoy you personally.
Having a bit of background will help people to give you ideas and advice.

I do.  I sell products from home through social media.  At a time when non essential shops are closed, it's a thriving business.   Obviously needs to be something you are passionate about and with most things, you need to put the effort in.

There are plenty of options, but most will take time to start and understand the process of doing so. If its just a small business ud like on the side, then you have to research what skills or products you could monetize. Maybe its easier to even consider employment which might give you that amount a week.
A few of my friends are employed full time and work on a self employed basis doing food deliveries using ueber eats, just eat, Stuart, Deliveroo or just being employed by Dominos.

You can also have a look here in the forum "Make £2021 in 2021". People tend to document some of the stuff they do in order to earn some extra.
I did Appen before which worked well, but haven't received lucrative projects in some time. In the meantime i do Surveys, Bank Switch, Focus Groups, Referrals, and other small things that provide me nearly £2000 a year. But its mixed with cash payments, or payments in like Amazon vouchers.
Are you already using a cashback debit or credit card? Are you using cashback websites?
I channel all my expenses through my Amex and earn Airmiles. it took me 2 1/2 yrs to earn about 140k Avios points (using lots of sign up offers and bonuses). I dont count this towards earning money but if I were to transfer them into Nectar points today, that could be worth £1120 Sainsburys or Argos vouchers.

frugalandsave is spot on, now you can convert Avios points in nectar points which counts as cash if the money you would of spent on food shop is banked.

Why do people overlook refer and earn.
Lots of companies give you bill credit or gift cards if you refer people and they sign up with your link.

    That is absolutely achievable.
I'm a great fan of matched betting but since you lump it in with phone sex work I guess you're not 🤣

Referrals etc could get you decent money for a while, but unless you have a huge network you'll eventually run out of friends.

Ebay selling can be very good, I used to buy good quality but poorly presented clothes on auction on ebay, then present them well with lots of photos and measurements and put them on a buy it now at a £20 - £50 profit and they sold well to a completely different segment of ebay buyer.

A rather odd one but a friend did baby sitting, lots of parents would much rather have an adult than a teen looking after their kids and she was in great demand, not exactly at home though.

Plenty of things you could do, what do you enjoy and what hours do you have available?
