Hi I have just started the process with my mum's estate so far i have sorted out the property insurances chased any monies due to the estate spoken to the bank and provided them with a death cert and a copy of the will .,any monies due to her are paid by cheque as no more DD SO can be paid nor paid in and deposited in her account i have not set a new account up I will when i close it put it in a sub account within my bank account . I am just about to start probate in the next week after i chase up the last company who owe her monies . I found it helpful to write things down in a book i.e. To Do and follow up and when i send any paperwork back i note it so i can chase if needs be. I should stat I am the sole beneficiary as well as executor hope this helpsSlava Ukraini0

Hi, I'm really sorry for your loss too, it's a difficult time and I felt the same after my Dad died. Mum had died a few years before and you do get that feeling of not being able to think straight or sort anything at all.
Do you have a solicitor? They can help.
Citizens Advice can also help, they have lots of info and it's free. Start here -
https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/family/death-and-wills/what-to-do-after-a-death/
or just phone them if it's too much to face reading. Details in this link

Also, don't feel that you have to do everything in a rush. Obviously some things need to be done sooner rather than later but other things can wait.
