Neighbours building work

  • Hi
When we had significant building work done we had to notify our home insurance provider and they wanted details about the builder we were using, including details of their insurance etc before they'd agree to continue with buildings insurance. They withdrew contents cover because we moved out. They wouldn't reinstate accidental damage until all the trades had finished even though we moved back in before they had finished.
So I'd question whether her buildings insurance would cover her.

So what's happened. Did they get the injunction? Has all work stopped?

In all fairness, there was a <ahem> bit of a problem with the drains that caused subsidence. I hope the home owners were fully insured along with the ones either side (they look to be at risk as well).

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

I wonder if it is worth giving the police a call and reporting it as criminal damage....
They may well say it is a civil matter, but they may pay a visit and might even issue a fine or two under Covid regulations.

Best not get the police involved in these situations.  They often make these things worse, and you end up feeling more frustrated.
