Santander OTP SMS delays when attempt to logon to web-based banking

Hi. Is anybody else having problems with Santander bank web-based account access and one time password (OTP) SMS messages taking a very long time to be received? I'm not receiving messages for 8 or more minutes by which time the OTP has expired. Other SMS messages to my phone are being received OK so it's not a problem with my phone. No response to my tweet to Santander as yet!.

I receive frequent Santander OTP SMS messages and they have always arrived within a few seconds.

Santander have treplied to a tweet from another user with the same issue and advised issues with the Three network which might be causing the problems. My mobile provider Smarty is a Three Network MVNO so likely affected. ThreeUKSupport twitter feed confirms "we’re currently experiencing intermittent technical issues with both calls and texts" so I guess Three Network users will have to be patient eh!

Can you use the app instead? It rarely if ever requires OTPs.1

Good point. I had thought of this but I also manage my childrens Santander accounts and it's hassle (but an option if absolutely necessary) to have have to enter additional account details instead of just using my finger print to access my account.0

Issue appears to be resolved now and I've received lots of backlogged OTP messages. There was a problem with the Three Network affecting SMS message to some user with Three and other MVNO's such as Smarty, ID-Mobile, etc.1
