You would hope that a RGI would understand pressure & flow.

At 3 bar which is what the combination valve is set at & using 22mm copper which is the size of the combination valve, the max flow rate is 119 l/m, however that isn't taking into account any elbows on the pipework or the actual restriction of the valve itself, so like I said there is no way that megaflow is going to give you anything like 176 l/m
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Adding some restrictions will reduce flow from the maximum of 176 litres per minute. Avoids admitting you are wrong.
  • Surely a  Megaflo's output is only as good as its supply? And I've yet to see a household's cold mains supply approaching 119 lpm, let alone 176 - so that's all rather academic.

Chaser's cold supply is seemingly at around 3bar pressure, and presumably - it would be quite typical, after all - at around 20 lpm flow. That would make his max hot water flow also ~20lpm. Now visualise what'll happen to his top-floor shower (presumably drawing around 15lpm at full chat) when a second shower - which is closer to the Mega and also drawing 15lpm - is used?

If this is what's happening to Chaser - and I suspect it is - then it's surely 'normal' and not a fault?

The only ways he can resolve it - afaIk - are:

    (a) improve his colds mains supply  if that's possible (eg new supply pipe, sorting any internal issues (blocked stopcock, pipes too narrow, stuff like that). This might not be possible - ~20lpm might be the most he can get from the mains.
    (b) add a mains booster accumulator. This will work. He might even get away without a pumped system since he has a decent 3bar available to pressurise it.
    (c) Throttle back the lower showers so they provide around, say, 12lpm max. That would be an improvement - everyone should now be able to have their showers, but it's not ideal as the 'throttled' showers won't be as invigorating as they could be.

Megaflo's bumf states maximum flow of 76 L/min; sounds like google put a 1 in front
