FENSA Cert & Insurance Backed Guarantee

Quick question for the experts, as I'm going round in circles.
From solicitor, I have front page only of FENSA cert for window installation in 2016.
I also have complete QA Insurance Backed Guarantee Policy of Insurance re same. This states it will run for 10 years, or period stated on Contractor's Written Guarantee, and is transferrable, again, subject to Contractor's Written Guarantee.

My question is - will both these pieces of information be shown on the FENSA Cert, or should there be another, separate Guarantee document, from the Contractor?

FENSA do not offer guarantees. They are a trade body, though usefully their members are also member of the 'Competant Person' scheme that allows them to sign off Building Regulations on behalf of the council.
Any guarantee will come from the contractor, backed up by the insurance in case the contractor goes out of business.

If you don't have the complete FENSA certificate, you can download a copy for £25 here: https://forms.fensa.org.uk/fensa-certificate

It's unlikely that the FENSA certificate will show details of the guarantee, that's probably a separate document. The contractor  might (or might not) be able to help you trace a copy of that.

If you can't find details of the guarantee, you'd have to sell the property without the benefit of a window guarantee.

(It might be some reassurance to the buyer that the contractor was confident enough about the quality of their work to give it a 10 year guarantee - even though the 10 year guarantee may now be unusable.)
