Water coming down my chimney

Hello, I'm really hoping someone can help.
We've just paid a substantial amount of money to have our victorian terraced house roof fixed as there were leaks all around the house. Yesterday, after a heavy rainfall, we woke up to our kitchen chimney leaking which was rather upsetting. We called the builder who has now been up on the roof again and applied a new layer of render on top of what he'd already done.
Would anyone be able to tell me if this looks like a decent job? I won't know if it worked until it rains heavily again. He re-fitted the pictured chimney gas terminal cowl as we're having our extractor hood put inside the chimney breast in the kitchen. The white tube for the extractor hood did not have any water inside, the water had come down around it.
Any insights or advice would be massively appreciated.

Well it's not the prettiest job, and one can see gaps in the stack mortar. In the bottom picture.

Could you take pictures of the rest of the chimney brickwork and flashing?
