Morning all.
Racking my brain, old and withered though it is, for something interesting/exciting/encouraging/even mind-blowingly boring to say, but so far sweet nothing.
I could tell you what I am going to do to the packet of mince that has been thawing in the fridge overnight, but that is beyond boring so I will spare you.
Here's hoping that you will have a more interesting day than it looks like I'll have.
It's cold and sunny here today and I could tell you that in normal times I would be wrapped up and off out for a brisk, bracing walk, but I won't because it would be a big fat lie. I would be more likely to be wrapped up fair enough, and tucked up on the sofa with knitting and a book.
However, the mince has to be attended toI believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning all, it's blummin freezing here again after 2 mild days and the heating is back on.After I washed the kitchen floor yesterday I cleaned down the white goods, the kitchen doors and drawers. Today might not be as productive as I haven't moved from the sofa yet
I do have a wash to go in the wm, I like to keep the washing down to one load at a time if I can because of indoor drying. Later I want to wander the web in the hope that some new recipes jump out at me, I feel our meals are in a rut again.
Dad had his letter for his jab yesterday and he has to go to the large leisure centre next Wed. His friend has already had his and he says there was a bit of a queue before you get in. As Dad is unable to stand for more than a couple of minutes we said we will take him and his scooter and drop him off, at least that way he has a seat while waiting. We will wait in the car park. His concern then turned to the weather but we can't do anything about that except hope for a dry day !I have taken some chicken breast fillets out of the freezer and I will make a sweet and sour with rice for tea.Take care all, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Afternoon all. After a rubbish night on Wednesday to Thursday, yesterday I was tucked up and sound asleep by 8p.m. Then I slept for over 12 hours straight through so I now feel better. My morning has been quiet and slow. Had a shower, fed and watered DM and then have just bummed around! I have no plans for going out even though I am really itching to, tomorrow is cake shopping so I'll save it for then.I hope that everyone stays warm and well. Happy Friday .11

Hello
I'm fairly sure you won't remember me, but I joined a while back and then my laptop and this site had some kind of fight and I was
too proud to ask my sons for help - caved into today and now I can login and post
I seem to have found this latest lockdown the hardest, all three of our adult sons still live with us ( middle one is moving out in March to live with his girlfriend but that's a story for another day) one works in retail, the other in the NHS, and we live in an area which has a very high incidence of the new variant of Coronavirus, which is worrying but apart from being as careful as we can there's not much else we can do. Our youngest son is autistic and was hoping to go on an introduction to work course for young adults with learning difficulties in October last year, that was delayed until January, and has now been shut down with no date for re-opening. So we've been working on some basics with him, I've taught him to make porridge for himself in the morning, and how to make his favourite dessert ( apple crumble!) - my husband is working on his basic maths.
I'm going to to finally do some Christmas de-cluttering this afternoon and tonight's dinner will be something made with the mince my dh picked up on offer at the local co-op this morning.

Afternoon everyone
I had a frosty walk with little one down to nursery this morning - it's an hour's round trip and was quite slippery in places. I need to pick her up again at 3. DD ( her mummy) has been discharged from hospital (again!) - she has a catheter she has to use for 2 weeks, but in that 2 weeks she'll hopefully have had the tests she needs. Little one will just stay with me tonight and then we'll see how DD feels tomorrow.
I sat with dad while mam went for her vaccination. We had planned to sit in the garage but it was far too cold so I sat in one corner of the living room at the dining table and dad was in his chair at the other side of the room. I had got his banking and other jobs done on his laptop and we had a good chat. Mam came home very impressed with how well it was all organised, they have even laid on a free taxi service so people without transport can get there.
Well I have a couple of jobs to do before I have to go out again - take care everyone11 -
Afternoon everyone
I am feeling much better but still very tired, not yet back to work, due back next week. Although free parking has been taken away so to drive to work with congestion charge and parking will cost approx £35-£40 per day, so looks like I will be back on public transport.
I have been trying to go for a short walk each day. Managed about 15 mins per day so going in the right direction.
redruby - thinking of you and your family. Hope the police managed to catch up with your dd ex.Dp1 - hope your dd is feeling better.
Snoozer - hope your dgs isn’t as grisly with his teeth.
Bella - thinking of you also.
I want to try and get to grips with my sewing machine so will try and do an hour today. It’s 2 years old and I think I’ve used it twice.
hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.11 -
Late clocking in again today, Friday visit to the market, bakers etc, longer walk of approx 2 miles as had to collect something further out. OH is busy trying to mend vacuum cleaner which conked yesterday, hoping to make 1 good one out of 2.1/2. First one bought a few years ago had a problem under guarantee, makers replaced broken part, later we then had another bit break under the now extended guarantee so they replaced it with a new one, I await the outcome of his labours with crossed fingers LOL
Lovely ploughman's from my morning's shopping for lunch and left over chicken and cashew nuts for supper for OH and an omelette or risotto for me
Looking forward to TV watching this evening, Gardeners World and a programme about our beloved Lake DistrictThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)9
