Claiming Energy Company Obligation and Green Home Grant. Is it allowed?

I am getting a free boiler under the Energy Company Obligation Scheme and some underfloor insulation. I am told I can also claim under the Green Home Grant for other things but not for the same things. Is this true? I claim PIP and ESA so I can claim the full amount and I own my home.

With the Green Home Grant I am wanting my loft reinsulated as it contains Vermiculite (my home was built in 1971 so I am told to assume it's contaminated with Asbestos). I was wondering if the Green Home Grant would likely cover the cost of removing the Vermiculite and replacing it will the Glass Fibre stuff?

I cannot answer your question other than to say that no reputable loft installation company would remove anything thought to contain asbestos. Disturbing it will release dust and particles. Asbestos removal is a specialist job that requires PPE equipped personnel; defined clear ways and filtration. I would check with Building Standards whether there is any asbestos present.

I am aware of this and it's annoying having to find a firm that is licenced to remove it that can also insulate.
