Thy most likely didn't take the wheels off as there was no reason to do so. The majority of Ford models only have the wheels off every 2 years so not on the 3 year / first MOT service - strange but true !

Why are you taking your car back to Ford to be retested? That is a stupid thing to do after you've had it tested and passed by another MOT testing station. If Ford still fail your car after the retest, it will void the recent pass.0

it will not void the recent test

Nothing voids an MOT. It is valid until the expiry date on it. No ifs, no buts, no matter how minging the car has subsequently become.Biggus_Dickus said:

It can still be unroadworthy, of course, but we all understand that there is precisely zero link between a currently-valid test and roadworthiness, right?
The one exception is that a subsequent fail immediately voided a Covid 6mo extension... but since the last of those expires in a fortnight...0 -
There is a link between being roadworthy and a valid mot. However the link diminishes once you leave the test centre.AdrianC said:

Servicing at the main dealer is just a game. You take it there not for a service but to get a stamp in the book. What they do depends on what they feel like doing on the day. They probably should have removed the wheels at the annual service but if you haven't done many miles they can't be bothered. MOT testing is much better regulated and normally a bit better than servicing.0

I remember reading about someone who had been trained at a nationwide fast fit chain. They were taught that customers don't argue about bills under £300. So any quote for under £300 the customer will just say go ahead. Over £300 they will get more quotes or a second opinion. Maybe they were playing that game. I don't know if they would have actually done anything.0

Your car is now (presumably) out of warranty,
Not if its a Hyundai or Kia (and some others).0 -
I think it's probably a Ford.1
