Howden's prices

I am getting new doors fitted internally but I am really struggling with deciding which ones to go for because I can't see the prices anywhere. So a door I am looking at could cost anywhere from £80 to £1000 and I wouldn't have got a clue. Where can I see the prices? Or even get an idea of a ballpark figure

  • If you are just after prices measure the size of your doors & then just go to Wickes or one of the Diy sites this will give you a good idea. But check out your local suppliers as these can be very good. As an example I bought internal oak veneer doors for £100 each. But you can get hollow fibre doors for under £30. Depends what you are after & will you fit them yourself.

I will get someone to fit them and I think I know which door I want - problem is that I have no idea what the price is. What is the point of Howdens, do they not want us to get doors through them?

They don't want to have to deal with consumers but only professionals & so they don't give retail prices

They just don't want to scare you with their prices straight away.

Not seeing the prices has the opposite effect on me - scares me to think of how high they'd be
  • Sorry yes hollow core. But don't get stuck on Howdens you have to have a trade account with them & I have always found the doors they have are cheaper elswhere. But if you are having them fitted then the fitter could get them for you or at least the price.
  • I got something like this from Howdens last year via my builder. I think it cost about £200 with his discount:

    33 x 78 4-Panel Oak Glazed Shaker Door
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

Yeah I like that door Rosa. The ones like that without glass cost around £100 but I don't know exactly how much, and I want one door with glass but which one I want will depend on the price. I'd rather not use £200
