Electoral Roll and Credit file

Options
Hi All,
Hope you are all staying safe.
I have just got a quick question. We are thinking of letting our daughters boyfriend (he now lives with us) go on the Electoral Roll at our address, but would he then turn up against our credit report or not as i don't want it to affect our credit score?
No he does not have any financial connection with us

Credit files belong to individuals, not addresses.

No.  It won't affect your credit status at all - it's only if you're financially linked that he could have an effect.  And please don't worry about whether it would or wouldn't affect your credit score, seeing as how no lender gives two hoots about it - they can't even see it.

But the bottom line - just having him on the ER as living at your address will have no impact on your credit-worthiness.

As long as he has an entirely different name then it's fine. They sometimes do partial name matching, so if names are similar then it can get tricky.

You might get debt collectors turning up on your door step though.

Hi Phil, name is totally different so ok from that. He has made a really good start of clearing his debts and cleared 3 already and has started working on the next lowest ones and chipping away at them

    Good lad.

Sometimes all it takes is a positive influence 👍

The linked address thing can be a bit weird and tricky. When my sister moved out we both had debts, a while later my credit file was updated with a linked address of where my sister was living even though I had never even visited the said property never mind live there! One of my debt collectors had been writing to me at her address too. How does that even happen!
