PCN - HX Car Park Management Cartmel Racecourse

Hi guys,
Thanks for all the info on this forum. I’ve looked through the stickies and searched for and read posts relevant to my situation.
However, I think it’s time for me to ask for some advice.
I received a PCN from HX Car Park Management for parking at Cartmel Racecourse on Christmas Eve (nice!).
We parked in the car park at Cartmel racecourse and planned to stay for 3 hours.
My wife found the ticket machine confusing and somehow only managed to pay for an hour's parking.
We were booked in for a fancy lunch so didn't want to have to leave to come back and buy another ticket, so we bought another ticket straightaway for two hours. In our minds we thought that the towo tickets combined would cover us for the three hours (we'd paid the correct amount for parking for three hours).
The first ticket expired at 14:22. The second ticket expired at 15:27. They say we left the car park at 16:22 (about right)
I displayed both tickets and also took a photo of them in case we got a PCN. We've also still got both tickets.
On receiving the notice, I went onto their website to appeal it, sending the photo of the two tickets and explained the situation as above. I think I told them I was the driver (the car is registered in my company's name but I think they already had that info)
They have rejected my appeal and claim we have breached their contractual terms.
They say we can appeal through the IAS which I understand from posts on this forum is a waste of time.
I believe the racecourse belongs to Holker Estate so I sent an appeal to the landowner last night to explain the situation and to ask them to void it. I haven't heard back from them yet.
My question is - what is the best way to proceed from here? I've had a acan through the sticky posts and post for newbies but there's a lot there and I'm a bit tied up with juggling work and a newborn baby!
For the record, their rejection letter/email says I need to pay £60 by 29/1/21 or £100 by 13/2/21 (neither of which I intend to do).
Can anyone suggest what I should do now?
Many thanks in advance

You now wait until you get a LBC or LoC, ignoring powerless debt collectors.
Get pics of the site and signage, covid permitting. Read the second post of the NEWBIES regarding court claims should it come to that.
If you named the driver, that was a really bad idea, especially if the vehicle is registered to your employer. You would have had an easy get out of jail free card (and still might if you didn't name the driver). Did you keep a copy of your appeal?
You can get a copy from the scammers by sending a SAR if not. That way you will know for certain.
Cartmel is a nice place to visit, but not if you park in a car park infested by scammers.

Right now appealing to the IAS can work - they are accepting some appeals they used to just outright rejec t- or sit tight and wait
No car park i have ever known lets you do what you did. None.3 -

This is no different than any other IPC thread you read, the only difference from the NEWBIES THREAD advice right now, is that we are currently telling people to appeal to the IAS even though it is a kangaroo court, because lots of PPCs are understaffed and are more likely to fold, as long as the appellant submits lots of evidence to the IAS and makes it hard to argue.
Even then you will probably lose because the IAS is useless and anti-consumer, being run in the parking firms' self-interest.

Thanks guys for your help and support. I've heard back from a representative of the landowner who seems sympathetic and says she'll contact HX to try to help. I'll let you know how that goes. In the meantime, I will do as you all say.
Thanks again, very much appreciated2 -

Fantastic news - the representative of the landowner contacted HX and got the PCN cancelled! Just got it in writing from HX
For anyone else with a parking ticket from here, I sent my initial email to info@holker.co.uk and they passed me on to the relevant person to deal with it. Hopefully this helps anyone unfortunate enough to have to deal with these scammers in future.
Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread and for the posters of the stickies and newbie posts4 -
That's a very good result as HX are quite a nasty, litigious little outfit. Definite monkey off your back! Very well done. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Plan A worked again!
Because this individual thread will disappear down to obscurity soon, please can you add a summary of your success (location, parking firm, what you did and who you contacted and which email address, plus a URL link to this thread for people to read about it) to SUCCESSFUL COMPLAINTS ABOUT PPCS. It's the thread that's the first one linked in the NEWBIES thread begging people to make complaints first.
By putting it on that permanent thread it's easier to locate for newbies.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
