Banks cancelling accounts of people who live abroad... anyone know what's happening/happened?

Shortly before the end of the transition period there was a big thing about UK banks cancelling the accounts of UK citizens living in the EU. However I've not heard anything about it since. 
Does anyone know what's happening? Has anyone had their account cancelled?
And my personal situation - I live in Spain but still own a property in the UK, so my UK account is registered there. Does anyone know if that means I should be okay? It's not like I want to ring up my bank, tell them my situation, and ask!

Who lives in your UK property? Is it someone you know and trust? Or is it rented out to a tenant? Or is it empty?
"Registering" an account at this address does not solve the problem completely. What would happen to any post sent by the bank to that address? Would you risk losing confidential data, replacement cards, etc.? Would you be able to respond to such a letter?
The real point is that the bank needs an address at which they can contact you.
