DPD -Have you had problems?

Can anyone help?
I needed to send an item back to a company in Germany and I was advised by DPD that I could only send by air as the land borders were closed so I paid extra for it. That was on 29/12/20. My parcel hasn't even left the country yet and DPD have lost it. I have been trying for 2 weeks to get a response from them. Their phone lines are automated, I have done 3 online complaints and claims and nobody has got back to me. Now the company who I was sending it back to say its too late to get my money back. DPD customer service is appalling and I am left with a lost parcel and no compensation.
Has anyone else had similar and if so how did you solve it? Thanks

You can hear horror stories about all of the major couriers as, from time to time, things go wrong.
However I generally find DPD to be one of the better companies.0 -
Did you ensure that the parcel was adequately covered in case of loss or damage?rugbynugget said:and I am left with a lost parcel and no compensation.
If so, simply claim on the insurance for the loss.1 -
Just claim on insurance, this is what it’s for.We use DPD in work and it’s a bit of a pain with road shipments being paused to the EU, but anything air seems fine.0
