Kindle & Apps

I'm a great fan of my library and use their digital service which is accessed via an app on my phone/ipad though I occasionally will buy a kindle book if there's a deal to be had.
However I'm finding (especially as libraries are closed during the lockdown) that whilst I start off reading I've found myself drifting to surfing online to the wee small hours when using my ipad for reading
So I was thinking can you down a non kindle app to the kindle so I'd have a device that was only able to be used for reading?

The modern Kindles (the Kindle fire) are designed to be all-round tablets. If you want something just for reading, the basic Kindle e-reader may do. These are primarily aimed at reading. They do have an "experimental" web browser which isn't particularly fantastic and struggles on anything more than basic text.0
