Amazon claim my return was an empty box

So I sent an iPhone back to Amazon as per instructions with their return label . I have receipt from post office with weight of parcel . Amazon won’t refund me because they claim they received empty box. The brown envelope I sent to them weight 11gr , an empty iPhone box is 144gr so how come the receipt says 345gr??? Clear evidence iPhone was into box . Amazon has refused me any evidence of their finding ! How convenient!

Did you weigh both the empty envelope and the empty box before sending the phone back?
What model phone was it? as the weights vary considerably.0 -

Maybe the OP has read about previous problems so took steps to try and have evidence just in case? Of course the weight could have been fudged by putting something else in their instead of the phone - but then Amazon say (according to the OP) that they received an empty box.
How did you pay for it? You could do a chargeback / section 75 (depending) - but as it's Amazon then you'd have to be prepared for them to close your account.Jenni x0
