How pushy can I be?

Hi all, we are hoping to complete on our house move next Friday but as yet have not exchanged. My solicitor sent two queries back to our vendors solicitor following the return of the enquiries which she is waiting on before we can exchange and if they aren’t back by tomorrow we will have to change the completion date. Does anyone know how I can push this along? We really need to exchange next Friday if at all possible due to work commitments the following week. Thank You.

Not much you can do beyond telling your solicitor your preferred dates. Maybe ask the EA if there's anything else they know of holding things up.How long is the chain?0

Unfortunately our sale is private so the estate agent can’t really push our vendors solicitor. The chain is four people. The person below us is living with family and ready to go whenever, he’s wanting 22nd ideally, we want to complete then too, the people above us are happy for then but their solicitor is slooooow and the people above them are moving to a retirement community and are ready to go!0

it depends on what the queries are. If the information required is not readily available then it will be a cse of waiting until it is.
You can only communicate with your own solicitor. Your solicitor can chase it uo with their solicitor but may already being doing that.
Have the people above you contacted their solicitor to ask about the delay?0 -
Seems as if the people above you also have their own agenda.0

Our vendor doesn’t seem to know much and I don’t want to push as they recently had a death in the family. I can’t work out what we are waiting on!0
