Can someone please recommend a jumpstarter that would do the job well for my 2.2 petrol Vauxhall Zafira?
Thanks a lot

    I have one of these...

    It does exactly what it says on the tin, and has started stuff far bigger than your Zaf.

    Most of the Chinese eBay specials are probably pretty damn similar.

    But if you need one regularly, replace the battery or change your use patterns, rather than rely on a jump box.

    I bought my Dad a Noco jump pack, not the cheapest but one the best. Good in an emergency but long term you'd probably best looking at getting a charger, or as above see if you need to replace the battery.

    Crikey! 90Ah in a pack that small- and it will charge in 3hrs from that plug adaptor up that thin wire !!!!  (I'd stand that on something fireproof)

    Amazing :;

    And if you actually believe it is 90Ah, I've got some great investment opportunities exclusively for you :)

    I've got a jump start pack slightly bigger than the one listed and they are incredible pieces of kit, I think I paid c£80 for mine but I have a few classics that get left to rot, never failed to get a car started, also used it on Diesels, 3.0 Petrols etc.

    Agree, most jump packs will have a 12000 mAh battery, the largest I've seen is based on a 24,000 mAh battery pack, no way has that's got a 90,000 mAh battery inside it. I wouldn't go anywhere near that bit of Chinese tat listed.

    Stating mAh or Ah in terms of jump starter packs is erroneous anyway and most decent manufacturers don't express the term as it's only relevant to a continuous power source which jump start packs are not.

    It was 90,000mAh which is 90AH.

    A different topic, but it is watt hours that they quote now, because there is a 300Wh limit (300 x 3600 = 1.08 MJ) on what you can take on an aeroplane, and it is a much fairer comparison if you compare energy stored.

    Us simple old folk would expect a 1000mAh powerbank to provide 50mA for 20 hours, at the 5V output (5Wh), but they won't as the 1000mAh refers to the 3.6V battery, so they are actually only 3.6Wh, but they use a converter to produce the 5V.

    300Wh is 21Ah @ 14.4 of a laptop battery.

    Did I say anything different?
  • May as well just buy another car battery otherwise you have both your car battery and the battery in your jump pack to worry about.
