Reporting to Police

My car spun and I ended up a grass verge.  no damage to anything. Few drivers stopped to make sure I was ok.
Do I need to report to Police- the first time in such a situation!  Appears if damage to property inc animals or people I do..    None of that applies.   guys pushed me onto road and I carried on.  But I did wonder- should this be reported.

If you’ve hit nobody - and are absolutely sure that you’ve damaged nothing - other than your own pride - then there’s nothing to report.

Yeah was just a verge- the fence was higher up.   HGV driver has seen the back of me go. Never touched the brakes- foot off the accelerator - put hazards on then started to spin around. Covered my head as was only thing to be done. Wasn't wanting to role etc and get a head injury!    Thought I was going - odd feeling- very odd!        Not be telling my partner create worry.
  • Do you know why you spun?
If it was diesel or other oil on the road then it might be worth reporting it just in case it poses a danger to other vehicles.

HGV driver thinks Ice.  Just started to snow.  I was outside lane on a bend.   Felt the car and prepared then just went into a spin- across the lane up the verge facing down towards the road,  Was a slip off onto motorway.   no damage to my car- just mud .

Wow, on the few occasions I have spun it has been all over before I could think of putting on the hazards!
    Strange.

Gives new meaning to taking the car out for a spin.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".
  • If other cars haven't spun before or after then the chances are it's not ice on the road.

Could be your tyres aren't upto the job or more likely you were simply travelling too fast for the conditions
