so technically, after any 6 year period for anyone, when they log into their report, it should look like 'a clean sheet' and people shouldn't 'technically' have any issues applying for anything then...?
The old adverse information will have vanished six years later yes.
This doesn't mean that you won't have any issus applying for anything though, no.
Your old adverse data won't affect an application after the six year point but other factors may still come into play like recent credit history, employment, overdraft usage, credit searches, when you last switched bank / employer / address, etc.

id also like to know about the 'employer' situation there. From looking on my credit file, my employer isnt listed? How do companies know you are employed and with who and for how long?

It won't be on your credit report.
But some creditors will ask for employment information, length of time/industry. Sometimes it might just be industry and salary.
