Dont understand why Virgin would contact TT ,system is independent from VM .Phone number this is a VM business account ?? and you are taking out a TT business account then speak to the business account managers.0

Nope personal. apparently it is standard - when you "switch" they contact the old provider and "do it all for you to make it easy"...0

When you move from TT to Virgin, Virgin DO NOT take over your internet, they can only take the phone number as they use completely different physical systems to provide services.
If neither you or Virgin actually told TT to formally cancel the line takeover then that is why you have been disconnected.
Asking to "keep me on just in case" is a bit wooly to say the least.
Once disconnected all you can do is place a new order and that will inevitably mean a new number as you have found.

As above .(apparently it is standard - when you "switch" they contact the old provider and "do it all for you to make it easy"...)Big No as that only applies to the Open Reach network .
