Still nothing there for me on the banner, must be because I am new. (Using Chrome).

For me, the new thread appears in a pink box on the letf hand side of my screen towards the top. Although saying that you did start a new thread anyway. .https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6233054/this-will-be-seen-as-deprivation-wont-it#latest

Sorry, I see that, I meant being able to see how to edit/delete which was being suggested it was on the banner somewhere?

For me there's a cog on the right-hand side of the turquoise strip.  Sometimes I have to click the strip to get it to show up.  But that gives the options to edit or delete.
