Advice please RE; Adjustable beds (king/superking size)

Morning money savers, 
I've been looking for an adjustable bed for a while now for myself (I am disabled) shared with my husband. We are looking for either a king or superking size and my husband's side of the bed needs to be suitable for his size and weight (he is 6'7"). It needs to be duel control and both head and foot need to be able to adjust. 

Does anyone please have any hints or tips or recommendations as to what to look for?
Eg; 
Best mattress? 
Any good experiences? 
What to avoid? 
Any other experiences people may have? 

Obviously this is a money saving board and our budget is very, very tight so any advice would be much appreciated

I have a king size, from adjustamatic, The bed frame is solid, and well made but I paid over the odds for a massage function that basically just vibrates.. the bed was extortionate so I don’t reccomend the company
