I have savings over the £85,000 threshold in a fixed period savings account (1.49%) with another year to run.
Should I take the hit and transfer money out losing the accumulated interest, or am I reasonably safe?

You had a thread about this last year. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6133959/isa#latestHow much over are you? What's the cost of the penalty? Is it causing you sleepless nights? Personally I wouldn't worry as according to its last results in November it's reasonably well capitalised at c.13% CET1, authorities have shown over the years they'll do everything they can to prop them up and extend FSCS protection on an ad-hoc basis but ultimately you need to decide.1
