NatWest

Hi,
Does anyone know how many credit cards NatWest allows to have at one time?  I tried to look through the website but could not find the information.
Thanks
MS

Do you already hold a NW card?
If so your app or internet banking will tell you if you can apply for more.
I  2 would be the maximum although technically you could also try RBS.

I have three, which they told me was the maximum. One is a Reward card which has an annual fee of £24. However, this is refunded if you have a Reward current account which is £2 per month and pays me £5 per month for two direct debits and logging in to online banking at least once a month.

There is now a minimum pay in on the current account although this was not a requirement when I opened mine.

Yes, I was able to do this on the phone.
  • Is there a reason why you want 2/3 cards from the same provider?
For one thing you can't balance transfer between cards from the same company and then if there is a problem with your account there is the possibility that all of your cards could be blocked or frozen.

For me personally I use one card for online shopping and one for 'going out' although I dont do that much these days
One account login so easy monitoring and this enables me to budget easily and my card doesnt think I am in a restaurant and on amazon  at the same time.

Not sure about the OP but I have one reward card (1% cashback on supermarket spend and 0.25% everywhere else) and two balance transfer cards. I have to say I was surprised that I was able to get a second BT card.
  • I have two credit cards from Natwest.

The first is the Rewards credit card, giving 1% back on supermarket shopping and 0.25% elsewhere (I also have the Rewards current account, so the credit card fee is waived, and I am a net £3 up for having 2 DD’s and using the app at least once a month on the current account).

I also have their ‘low rate’ 9% APR credit card (not that I use the ‘low rate’ as I pay all cards off every month), however this card has 0% charges on overseas transactions, which the Rewards card does not.

I try to use the Rewards card as much as possible in the UK, particularly for supermarket shopping.

I use the ‘low rate’ card when on holiday overseas. Due to the current dearth of foreign travel, I just put a small transaction on this card every few months just to keep it alive.

I do have other credit cards as well, both for use in the UK and with 0% on overseas transactions just in case Natwest ever suffers computer problems etc.

When I had my Natwest account review in December 2020, I was asked if I wanted a Balance Transfer card, but as I never carry a balance, the lady doing the review agreed with me that it was rather a waste of time!
  • I had two and applied for a third via RBS (same group) and was approved.  Hope that helps.
