Small Business Mail Delay

could I ask any small businesses what they are currently doing with regards to the Royal Mail delays?
personally I’ve not seen a postman for nearly 3 weeks now unless it is a tracked parcel but my small business is only sending 1st class standard letters.

im dreading incase customers come back saying they haven’t got their stuff yet, ignoring the Royal Mail delays but the products aren’t dear enough to justify tracked posting.

I am grudgingly thinking about closing my store down for a few weeks until mail catches up.

how are you all dealing with it or are you closed as well?

There are some threads about this on the Ebay forum which are relevant and worth reading through as they discuss postagr options in general.  Ebay sales are more of a problem as they often suggest unrealistically fast delivery times to buyers.

I am finding customers buying on my site are quite understanding as those people living in areas with postal problems are usually well aware there will be a delasy.  RM publisted a list of places with problems due to staff sickness.  If you live in one of these it is probably best to stop sending or use a carrier.  Otherwise most of us are carrying on as usual and hoping for the best!
