Student maintenance loan and universal credit?

Options
I currently receive universal credit due to being on a low income. I'm looking at being a part-time student with the Open University while I work part time as it looks like the government have made provisions for maintenance loans to be available in this case. I'm wondering if I will still be eligible for universal credit as well?

Maintenance loans will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement, even if you decide not to take the loab. Also is the course classed as full time or part time? If it's full time then claiming UC as well will depend on your circumstances because some students are unable to claim UC.
