I have been appointed as executor to a friend's will and one of the witnesses lived at the same address as a beneficiary although they are not a relative of the beneficiary. It seems it was the girlfriend of the beneficiary's son but no longer lives at the address as they are no longer together.
Is this will still valid?
Many thanks

Yes , if she's not a beneficiary.
Not if they were married , spouses are not allowed.
Are you looking for a route to invalidate the will ?Ex forum ambassador

Many thanks for the prompt reply Browntoa
She's not a beneficiary and they were not married.
I'm not looking to invalidate the will. I just want to make sure that it is legal before I do anything else.0 -
Yes. The will would still be valid even if the witness were a beneficiary, it would simply mean that any gift to that individual would be invalid, the rest of the will would still stand. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)1
