Pet insurance deductible

Hi. I cannot get a straight answer from my pet insurance company so hoping someone else might know the answer to this: I have a £1000 per illness per year allowance. I have a £99 deductible to pay on the first occurrence and 20% off each claim. My question is: are the deductions counted toward the £1k limit? So if I submit a claim for £100 but I have to pay £99, and they pay £1, is the full £100 applied to my limit reducing it to £900? Or is only the amount they pay out (£1 in this example) applied to decrease my yearly limit? Also, are rejected claims counted toward the limited amount when submitted for the same condition? For example, for services not covered under my policy but submitted with an amount most of which is covered? Thanks.

You need to read the exact wording, and unfortunately its a topic that can be open to interpretation even before you add an aggregate limit. In most cases you'd expect the aggregate limit to be for the amount they settle but its not universal.1
