O/S Daily Monday 11 January 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, forecast says it should be warmer today - we'll see, was bitter all day again yesterday.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, roasties, mash, carrots, broc, green beans, peas, yorkshires and gravy. Dinner tonight will be fish, chips, beans/veg, I'll be having some baked fish and veg.
Back to work today - we'll see how this week goes - start of the restructure process - going to be a rough few weeks, but in the grand scheme of things know it could be a huge amount worse.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning everyone
It doesn't seem so cold here this morning and that's even with the back door open for the dogs to go out for a wee. I have just made myself a small pile of pancakes for breakfast - yum - and will be prepping our dinner after I have finished on here.
My cold has finally disappeared so I feel tons better and raring to go. I am knitting a Hermione from Harry Potter at the moment as I have finished my dragons and they look very cute. I think my grandson will nab the green one as it is his favourite colour.
My friend has asked me to make some knitted cats and teddy bears for her as she writes poems and stories and wants to make up some story bags with the toys. My knitting calendar is filling up fast as I also plan to make toys for all my nieces and nephews for Easter. Oh well, it keeps me out of trouble.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you may be doing, take care xx

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Milder here too after the Arctic conditions of the last week and set to reach the dizzy heights of 6 deg!! Of course there is a price to pay - rain and wind! At least yesterday's rain saw off most of the lying snow.
So another day of same old same old, going nowhere and seeing no-one. How much longer will I be saying that I wonder? Now it's less cold and I can tear myself away from the heating, fire and heated throw I might think (only think at this stage!) about attempting a bit of spring cleaning. But now the garage is less cold I really should defrost the freezers and give them a good sort out. I have lost track of what is in there with stuff rammed anywhere.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all who need them. Thinking of BELLA today and hoping all goes as well as it can. x Also in my thoughts are RUBY and MARIE. Take care one and all and try to stay safe and sane x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"15 -
Morning All
Wet and windy this morning but quite mild, I won't have to de-ice the car this morning thank goodness.
Work for me today and tomorrow then working from home for the rest of the week although I'm not sure there's that much to do. It's the start of home learning today so I would imagine there will be plenty of learning packs and chromebooks to give out for those who haven't collected them yet. We also have enrolments for the next school year starting today so should be kept fairly busy today.
I'm still not feeling 100%, this bug is hanging on, the cough is much better but I do feel quite achy this morning, glad your cold has gone dumpling.
I'll be thinking of you today bella and of course RR and MM are in my thoughts.
Take care. XX14 -
Good morning and thank you for starting the thread nmlc.
Not much happening here, I really don't think there is much going on in my life to interest anyone at present. Today's only plan is laundry, isn't that dismal!
Bellabella I will be thinking of you today.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back15 -
Morning all Well today is mums cremation I will be off to collect the flowers at 9am as the florist has been so busy she couldn't deliver to the funeral home luckily as i know her she fitted me in to do the flowers as they are so busy and then the service is at 11.40am . It will just be the 7 of us as i have asked people not too come as the risk is so great when people mix together and i wouldn't want anyone else going through this . The hardest part in all of this has been not being able to follow mums last wishes but hopefully when things ease we will be able to have a memorial service and the people she wanted there will be able to come . So what I wanted to say was please for me tell your loved ones that you love them and hold them tight if you can life right now is so very fragile . Take care all of you and above all stay safe and thank you for being my friends and sounding board xxxSlava Ukraini14

Sorry to hear you are still not 100% Camelot.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can.Take care folks.14

Morning all! Have been stuck in a bit of a rut mentally with this lockdown. Sitting on the sofa doing nothing all day except cycling through the same websites over and over was not doing anything for my mental health but difficult to get out of the trap. Had a video call from friend in Madrid yesterday while she was out walking so got to see their snow and her jump into a pristine bank of snow to do snow angels which ended uplooking more like the angel of the north. That went a good way to cheering me up.Having a shower and getting dressed also went some way towards it. It's not like I have anything to complain about, I'm safe, I have a roof over my head, I have heat and food. I just felt a bit blerrghh and didn't know how to get out of it. which is not to say it's passed completely, just that I will be watching myself more carefully...On the strength of doing things with nods towards the normal, I booked myself and OH into a charity quiz being held by Rhod Gilbert for Velindre, a hospital my father went to in Wales. No idea how it's supposed to work, I'd better get the tablet primed for action since I assume there has to be a cam and microphone of some sort going on. Should be entertaining
And I have sternly talked to myself about going for a walk every day and keeping up with learning the Italian. We'll see....
Bella, thinking of you today. RR, hope your dressing is staying put...AOD, I think everyone is the same, our worlds have shrunk. Good luck freezer cleaning TA! Camelot, hope it's not too onerous...dumpling, happy knitting! Nelski, comfort food, such a good idea...I might go with mince and tatties...Hey all reading along, hope you're coping OK, if not, get yourself help and don't be ashamed! Enjoy the weather being mild on Monday [ here at least...]Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12 -
Bella hugs for you today my thoughts are with you11

Morning all; no frost here today.
I had a busy day yesterday. There were 119 of us at my Zoom dance workshop and we all said how lovely it was to be able to dance again and learn something new. There were 5 of us there from my Morris side and we then arranged a Zoom just for us later yesterday afternoon to go through the dance whilst it was fresh in our memory. We're meeting up again later in the week and I've offered to learn the tune so will have a few days to work on that.
This morning we have a WhatsApp video call with DH's sister and BIL in Sydney so had better get a move on. I also need some food shopping but we have a main meal to defrost for later. Am toying with the idea of trying H**o Fr""" as someone has given us a code so we must make a decision about that as otherwise I'll buy too much food!
Made some ginger biscuits yesterday from the freezer; I'd made up the crumb when I last had the food processor out so just had to add the golden syrup and bake. I do that with crumble mix now as it keeps so well in the freezer.
Off to get sorted now so have a good day everyone.10
