  • Each to their own though really. I thought mine was faulty until I saw some other people's images and found that it was a fair reflection of the camera which I thought incredibly disappointing for something topping the charts.

Scrapit - have you tweaked your sensitivity so that it doesn't protect everything when a fly disturbs the airwaves? I noticed that too with mine.

I fitted and hard wired a Nextbase 312GW dashcam over two years ago to my Honda Civic, crystal clear recordings and still working without having had any problems.

I bought a cheap one on Ebay a year ago and haven't regretted it.
Got film of some deer crossing the road at night plus a dangerous driver that I handed to the Police who were after him and are prosecuting.

Do keep in mind that a dashcam with GPS could be used against you if it proved you were speeding, so be mindful :)
I have a mobius which I got in 2014 time, still works fine but I think if it fails I would like one with a proper mount and nudge sensor
I like the Mobius, it's tiny. I have one each end of the car.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

It doesnt protect everything and it doesn't protect things when I press the button.
  • Yep. That's how mine was.
Quite grainy. Sure it'll show that car hit your car but for me it doesn't pick up detail too well.
Plus the VIOFO A119 v3 is pretty much the same price as what i paid for the Nextbase and is just much better.

The nextbase cams, and probably others record a high quality and a low quality stream simultaneously.  If you mistakenly play back the low res videos, I can see why you might think that the quality is poor. Its supposed to be! Play back the high res video and you'll be amazed at how clear it is.
  • I certainly was amazed but not at how good it was.
Well aware of the quality situation you mention.
I also tried each resolution setting as well as updating the firmware.
It was consistently crap across the board I'm afraid.

Its one of those though - what's crap to one is amazing to another. It is what it is.
  • BTW  having the correct spec of SD card is very critical with dashcams. I now use a 'high endurance' card and get better results. 128gb San Disk high endurance micro SD card can be had for £20 at the moment.
