How can i find out who owns a small piece of land?

I viewed a flat in a small development, 60's built, with a block of garages off to one side of the plot. At the end of the garages there's a gate and the other side is another set of garages, derelict and overgrown and clearly haven't been used for many many years. The agent couldn't tell me anything and I'd like to try and find out more.
I did a planning application search for the road to see if anything came up there but nothing I could find - I wondered if someone had plans to build some houses or flats on the land but the only access to it that I can see is via the garages for these flats.
Any pointers on what I could check/look for?

Land registry map search

If the land is registered, then a LR search will tell you the owner.
If the land is not registered, then there's no way to easily find out.
The only way you'll find out if there's a plan to develop is if/when the planning app goes in.1 -
If the development is on part of the same plot of land you may find records going back.
Where I live was split off from a factory site, the paper info I have goes back to when that site was split off from an even bigger site.0 -
The map search worked. I found that the land is owned by two individuals and was bought by them in 2019. There is right of way via the access to the grounds where the property I'm interested is.Seems most likely they have bought it with the intention to build more flats or houses on the land - it's not huge but big enough for a few homes or a 2/3 storey small block. As it backs onto gardens of houses I doubt they'd get PP for anything too ambitious. Just the potential issue of additional traffic going through the property and possibly impact on use of the garage.0
